Cultural center for elderly people

Started in May 1994, the Pensioners’ Club is aimed to unite socially unprotected elderly people and to satisfy their cultural needs. A variety of cultural events is available : meetings with musicians, writers, poets, composers, representatives of different local and international Jewish associations; birthday and jubilee parties; concerts. Twice a month a group of elderly gathers to exchange news, attend a lecture, discuss a plot of the latest best seller, celebrate one’s birthday among friends of the same age, consult a psychologist, chat and have a cup of tea. The JCC also maintains important connections with the local Philanthropic Center for the elderly, Hesed Yehuda, working with them to plan Jewish Holiday programs and other special events: "Story telling hour for Elderly", "Rosh-Hodesh in Warm Houses", the project "Names".
