MUSIC SALON  Twice a month the Music Salon welcomes its quests giving them the opportunity to involve themselves into music culture and to compose their own songs and melodies. Art Club "Bravo" gathers the best singers of Jewish music. The program aims to study Jewish music history and tradition of Moldova, FSU countries, Europe and Israel, and to search forgotten names of Jewish music culture. The Music Salon hosts meetings devoted to remarkable Jewish musicians, composers, singers, musical critics, orchestras, choirs, solists. Zinovii Stolear, a well-known Jewish Moldovan musical critic, author of numerous publications on Jewish music, and Alla Deresco, the head of the Fine Arts Department run these meetings. They organize reviews of videotapes of classical operas, ballets, performances, concerts; provide lectures on audiocassettes and books from the Library holdings; meetings with famous Moldovan Jewish and non-Jewish musicians. They invite Jewish children and young adults to take part in the meetings. They also travel round Moldova performing and giving lectures at peripheral JCCs. They work in close cooperation with the State Moldovan Philharmonic Society, National Opera and Ballet House, The Association of Moldovan Musicians and Composers, and other musical associations. |
